First day in India!

(23jan)

When I get to the Jaipur airport was everything perfectly normal. I just take my luggage and go straight to the exit. When I get there everything was a mess because of the Jaipur Literature Festival. It is a huge event that happens in Jaipur and there are people of everywhere. So after a while looking for someone from AIESEC, the trainee from Morocco Soukaina Aouad found me and ask if my name was Joao, or something like that. I get in the car of Jai, that is an AIESEC member and also who take care of the trainee house that me and Soukaina are living. 'Till there everything was perfectly fine. Than, I was about the face the Indian traffic. That was an intense adventure! There are no traffic lights. It seems that we were about to hit the car every corner. After a long way driving Jai stopped to give a ride to Fernando Jimenez (Colombia) and Alexandru Gutunoiu (Romenia), they also live at the same trainee house. So we were in 5 people, 5 different countries and 4 different continents inside a car. They made a lot of questions of Brazil, starting with soccer, of course. After about 20 minutes talking we let Fernando and Alex to take a bus and went to the trainee house. Jai and Soukaina explain me about the how things will work at the house and how to take a bus, cab, order some food, wash clothes and so on. We've talked for more than 1 hour, most of the time I was asking something about India. It was about 10 in the morning when I went to bed to rest for a couple hours.
Soukaina woke me up at 3 and made me pasta and a soup, which, despite it was a little bit spicy, it was delicious. She said this was nothing spicy if compared to the Indian food. So, apparently I will have problems with it. I'll get use to it. Than we went to my first ride in the tuc tuc. Here they call, as far as I heard, of oto rishka (I don't know how to right it, yet). It was another traffic adventure. They are always using the horn (buzina in portuguese), it's like they are always saying: out of the way! It really scares me the way that they drive, but I thing I will get use to it, at least I hope. We took 2 girls from India, which one works with Soukaina and her sister and went to the Jaipur Literature Festival. There I meet other AIESECers, including the girl that get me the job Apurva. And also I meet another Brazilian exchange participant from Santa Maria - RS, Grazi. We stayed there for about 4 hours, it was really nice to feel more close to the India culture. Also there were lots of important people, for example the prime minister of HR (human relations) from India. I listened to Indian live music too, but was nothing like the music that I know. It was really different, more screaming (not screamo) and has few melody and harmony. I'll try to explain you better in the next posts. There I tried for the first time a very popular beer in India, called Kingfisher. I liked! It is "stronger" than our beer and not sweet. As I was very tired, I went home, again with the tuc tuc. When I was crossing the street to get home, I didn't see a bus coming. It's because I was used to look first at the left an after at the right, here is the opposite, the english way of driving (mão inglesa). As Soukaina was it me, she just scream and I saw the bus with enough time to get out of its way. For those who thinks I'm exaggerating about the traffic, there is a video that can illustrate better:
Than I finally got home. I talked a little bit with Fernando, Alex, Jai and Aman and than took a shower. There is hot water! Uhuuulll!!! After I went to bed and sleep.
